The country wines of France have faced a very difficult period, growing competition in their main export markets from the more modern looking "New World" wines have made many traditional French wine makers revaluate their branding and image. This established and successful brand from the Languedoc region asked Annette Scarfe Design Europe to redesign their brand to better compete with the New World wines. The challenge for our designers was balancing the need to promote the traditional French quality values with the new demand for a fresher more modern look.

The original Chateau illustration was redrawn as a simple line drawing and its emphasis repositioned on the neck label. We then created a more modern label balanced and softened by reflecting hand made papers and a detailed leaf illustration. The French traditional values and the heritage of the domaine were enhanced by the use of scripted type and a seal device stamped onto the corner of the label.
The newly designed Domaine Ribaute wines has made a spectacular debut onto the established European wine markets, the producers now see a potential for this brand to explore the international export markets.
